What are the ECM/MailMarshal Exchange install paths and registry key locations?

Information:

This article lists the default install paths and the registry key locations for each ECM/MailMarshal Exchange version.

For SEG/MailMarshal SMTP, see Q10832.

Notes:

  • The install path can be customized by the user when ECM is installed, so it may not be installed in the default location.
  • On 64 bit systems, ECM installs as a 32 bit application.

Install Paths

  • Version 7.1.5 and above: %SystemDrive%\Program Files\Marshal\MailMarshal Exchange
    • Web Components install to ...\Marshal\MailMarshal Exchange Web Components
    • On a 32 bit system (allowed for user interfaces and web components), all items install to ...\Program Files\...
  • Version 7.0 through 7.1.1: %SystemDrive%\Program Files (x86)\Marshal\M86 MailMarshal Exchange
    • Web Components install to ...\Marshal\M86 MailMarshal Exchange Web Components
    • On a 32 bit system (allowed for user interfaces and web components), all items install to ...\Program Files\...
  • Version 5.3: %SystemDrive%\Program Files (x86)\Marshal\MailMarshal Exchange
  • Version 5.2: %SystemDrive%\Program Files\Marshal\MailMarshal Exchange 

%SystemDrive% refers to the partition or drive letter where the Windows system is installed.  This is most often C:

Unpacking folder

The Unpacking folder is used as a working space to unpack and scan email messages.

The default location for the Unpacking folder is within the ECM installation folder (for instance, C:\Program Files (x86)\Marshal\MailMarshal Exchange\Unpacking).
