How do I re-run SQM configuration?

This article applies to:

  • Trustwave MailMarshal (SEG) 6.4 and above Spam Quarantine Management website
  • Trustwave ECM/MailMarshal Exchange 7.X Quarantine Management website

Question:

  • How do I re-run SQM configuration?
  • How do I re-set the SQM administrator password?
  • SQM administrator account Windows account no longer exists
  • SQM administrator email address (forms authentication) incorrectly entered
  • Trustwave MailMarshal (SEG) Array Manager server name was changed

Notes:

  • To determine which user(s) are administrators, see Knowledge Base article Q12805.
    • It is good practice to configure more than one SQM administrator. Any SQM administrator can grant this right to other users.
  • The procedure described here does not allow you to change authentication mode between Forms and Windows. To change authentication mode, see Knowledge Base article Q10444.

Procedure:

Note: If you have more than one SQM web server, to change the Array Manager server name and login details you must complete this procedure on each server. To enter a SQM administrator email/login, only complete the procedure on one server.

  1. On the SQM web server, open IIS Manager.
  2. Navigate to the properties of the SQM virtual directory
    • For MailMarshal SMTP, by default this is Default Web Site/SpamConsole
    • For MailMarshal Exchange, by default this is MailMarshal Exchange Web Components/Quarantine Console
  3. If you are using IIS 6:
    1. Select the ASP.NET tab and click Edit Configuration.
    2. On the General tab, in the Application settings section, locate the key InitialConfigurationComplete. Change the Value to False.
    3. Apply the changes.
  4. If you are using IIS 7:
    1. Double click Application settings.
    2. Select the item InitialConfigurationComplete.
    3. Click Edit and change the Value to False.
  5. Exit from IIS Manager.
  6. Using a web browser, open the default page of the SQM site. You should be directed to the Configuration page. Complete and save the settings. Do not attempt to change authentication mode (see Knowledge Base article Q10444).
