Repairing problems with Scan Engine plugins


This article applies to:

  • WebMarshal 6.5 and above
  • Scan Engine plugins (TRACEnet, Safe Search)

Symptoms:

  • WebMarshal Engine will not start
  • One or more plugin DLLs are missing or corrupt

Procedure:

Plugin DLLs for WebMarshal features are updated automatically.

If one or more plugin DLL files are missing or corrupt, the update process may not complete. In this case the Engine service may be unable to start.

To resolve this issue, run the WebMarshal product installer in Repair mode. This action will clear any invalid files and any configuration information about the plugin versions.

Once the repair completes, the plugins will be updated to the latest available versions as part of normal operation. A check is performed when WebMarshal services start.
