Question:
- What are the Release Notes for MailMarshal SMTP 6.4?
Information:
The Release Notes included with MailMarshal SMTP 6.4 are accurate as of the date of publication (August, 2008).
This article provides any additional information generated after that date.
The latest release of MailMarshal SMTP 6.4 is 6.4.6.5922 (August 6, 2008).
- 6.4.6 corrects an issue in 6.4.5 that affected the parking folder function.
Please see the Release Notes for changes from earlier 6.4 releases.
Upgrading Notes:
- If you disabled SpamProfiler updates using the instructions in Trustwave Knowledgebase article Q11977, upgrading will revert your changes. To disable the updates, repeat the steps in the article.
Notes:
- Trustwave MailMarshal (SEG) 6.4 no longer supports installation on Windows 2000.
- Trustwave MailMarshal (SEG) 6.4 correctly identifies Office 2007 documents. If you have applied a custom file type workaround (as described in Q11803) you must remove this workaround after upgrading to allow full identification and unpacking functionality.
- The "route to host" rule action can now be used with local domains (in earlier versions local domain delivery was evaluated before the route to host setting).
- When upgrading from an earlier 6.X release, you retain the existing database. You only need to create a new database if upgrading from version 5.5.
- From version 6.2 onward, MailMarshal uses 8.3 file names to resolve issues with Unicode characters in file names (issue MM-181). Ensure that 8.3 file name creation is enabled for the partition MailMarshal uses for unpacking. (8.3 file names are enabled by default in all Windows versions.)
