This article applies to:

• MailMarshal SPE

Symptoms:

• Attempting to upload a custom theme or user group file larger than 200 KB
• Import fails
• Error message: There is no specified file of the correct type (txt), or multiple files were selected.

Causes:

• By default, IIS imposes a limit of 200 KB (204,800 Bytes) on uploads. Larger files are not accepted.
• SPE 2.3.5 and below limits the file size for user group import to 250,000 Bytes. 

Resolution:

• To address the IIS limit, see the changes detailed in Microsoft article 327659.
• In currently supported versions of SPE, the maximum acceptable file size for user group import uploads is increased from 250,000 Bytes to 4,000,000 Bytes (subject to the IIS limit).
• SPE versions that support themes have a limit of 10 MB for theme uploads, but the IIS limit still applies.
