HOWTO: .fup installation for SWG

Expand / Collapse

This article applies to:

  • SWG 9.x
  • SWG 10.x
  • SWG 11.x

Itmay be needed to manually install an update, hotfix or patch to the SWG system. The instructions below will give you a step by step on how this is done

    Procedure:

You will first need to download the patch/update to your local desktop. (This file should be provided by Trustwave support technician)

In the SWG GUI, navigate to Administration -> Updates -> Update Management. Click “Import Updates” -> Browse your local PC and select the update/patch supplied by the Trustwave support technician. Click Import.

Once the import process is finished, the file should be ready to install. In the available updates tab you should see the imported update/patch ready to install, click the icon and then click install.

Once the install begins you should see an install screen.

Wait for the install to finish then click “Redirect to Login Page”.  The installation should be complete and the update/patch is now installed.

    Notes:

Manual Updates like these will cause certain processes to restart on the SWG; this may interrupt scanning in a production environment. It’s recommended to install an update or patch during a maintenance window where it’s appropriate for the system to go down.
